VMware vSphere 6.7 U3b Released

VMware has released vCenter 6.7 U3b and ESXi 6.7 U3b.

vCenter update includes a lot of security fixes, some of them critical, including upgrades of Linux tools to newer versions. The issue of upgrading vCenter when vCenter Server High Availability is enabled is also resolved.

ESXi update includes also a lot of resolved issues, including one where ESXi hosts might fail with a purple diagnostic screen during power off or deletion of multiple virtual machines on a vSphere Virtual Volumes datastore.

VMware Cloud on AWS Outposts

Yesterday was announced at AWS re:Invent 2019 the Beta program of VMware Cloud on AWS Outposts, for a limited number of customers located in the United States.

What is VMware Cloud on AWS Outposts?

This new solution is a fully VMware-managed offer with the goals of providing a simple, more secure and scalable infrastructure for an on-premises data center. It will integrate all VMware SDDC solutions (vSphere, vSAN, NSX and vCenter) and will run on next-generation, dedicated, elastic Amazon EC2 bare-metal Outposts infrastructure, delivered on-premises with optimized access to local and regional AWS services.

Which are the Use Cases?

– Local Cloud;
– Data Center Modernization;
– Flexible Capacity.

Why should we consider that solution?

How to deal with that?

At the end, regarding all that new solutions focused on edge computing and on-premises solutions, but totally managed by VMware, the question that remains is how can integrator partners can deal with that? Which space remains for them?

Maybe we will understand that better on a near future…

The first post of my first blog

Hi everyone,

So this is the first post of my new blog, a blog dedicated to VMware products and technology, where I will talk about new product releases, use cases deployed, tests done on lab environment, events, everything related to VMware’s world.

My name is Hugo Silva, I’m a technology and, more precisely, VMware evangelist. I have already tested and deployed a bunch of VMware products, but today I’m focused essentially on vSAN and Cloud Management and Automation products, a.k.a CMA.

2019 was my first year as a VMware vExpert, and I’m certified with VCAP on DCV and DTM, VCP on DCV, NV, CMA and DTM.

I hope that you can find useful information on that blog and that can help you. Please ask everything you need, I will try to answer ASAP.
